A quick look at Twitter's API revealed that not only could you check whether or not an account had verified status, but you could also check follower count. Thus, The World's Most Exclusive Website was born. Within hours of launching, over 125,000 people tried to gain access and hundreds of celebrities made it inside. Users without verified accounts were redirected to a place on the internet that they might have a better chance of being welcomed at: OliveGarden.com. That decision was made to translate real-life behavior to the web (if you can't get into a club, you have to eventually go somewhere else). Some notable celebs who got in: Jerry Bruckheimer, Ryan Seacrest, and Kim Kardashian.
